Decidedly dark and deliciously different, an evening with Bethany Black is a one way ticket to a world you never knew existed. Managing to balance being “dark-tinged but magical” (The Guardian) with being warm and chatty, she has built a cult following for her brand of confessional comedy. She has worked alongside some of the greats of the industry and written jokes for acts as diverse as Brendon Burns and Jimmy Cricket.
Having started performing in 2005 she was initially branded ‘unremarkable’ by a clueless imbecile reviewing her first gig. A few short years later she’s now being told“Bethany Black should prepare for world domination” (Bruce Dessau, British Comedy Awards) and of her style; “the anecdotes are pitched perfectly…very funny.”(Chortle). She also has a burgeoning acting career having appeared in Russell T Davies drama 'Cucumber' and 'Dr Who'.
Winner of the first UK Pun Championships and featured in Timeout’s “One to Watch” section, Darren Walsh’s silly happy-go-lucky style has been compared to Harry Hill, with an act that combines surreal nonsense and snippets of daft songs. You’re never more than six seconds away from a punchline with this rapid-fire king of daftness.
“He is a genial presence, not manic like Tim Vine, not wonderfully nerdy like Gary Delaney and not deadpan like Jimmy Carr, but very much his own mirthmaker.” Kate Copstick, The Scotsman
“A real crowd-pleaser, with originality and personality by the bucketload.” Chortle

“Banter at a pitch somewhere between vintage Vic and Bob and even-more-vintage Ade and Rik.” Chortle
